March 26, 2020 Update on Physiotherapy Services

March 26, 2020

An Open Letter to Our Patients and Clients,

I have made the extremely difficult decision to suspend in-person clinic visits until at least April 6, 2020.

As the number of cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Alberta, I want to do more to flatten the curve.  All Albertans have a role to play in this regard.

I believe everyone should be practicing physical distancing, going out only for critical tasks, staying home and away from others if sick or in isolation, washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding touching your face with your hands.

These are all simple measures we can take to help protect our community.

In addition, beginning March 26th, the City of Edmonton – Community and Social Services, Alberta Health Services, Homeward Trust and community partners are working together to create a safe space at the Kinsmen Field House for community members experiencing homelessness.  Individuals will be utilizing the Field House for overnight shelter.

Our team will take some time to see how this program rolls out and determine what steps are necessary to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our patients, clients, staff, and physiotherapists.

In the meantime, we are committed to continuing to serve our clients using telecommunication.

Whether it is by a telephone, email, or video connection we will use our vast experience to support you through this challenging time.

Your physiotherapist will be contacting you to discuss your case and schedule your next appointment.

Our team wants to thank you for your understanding and assistance as we face this new normal together.

We appreciate all the efforts you have already taken to manage the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

We look forward to seeing you all soon.
