Rob completed his Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta in 2016 and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with distinction at the University of Alberta in 2012.
Rob is a former Registered Nurse with extensive experience in Paediatrics, working in the Stollery Emergency Department at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Rob is committed to building on his education and advancing his skills in the field of physiotherapy by completing ongoing courses. He recently completed course work in the area of Concussion – Prevention, Detection, and Management – through the University of Calgary and the University of Laval. Rob has completed acupuncture training with Acupuncture Canada and is authorized to use needles in practice by Physiotherapy Alberta. He has completed the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division manual therapy Level 1 certification and has started his Level 2 certification. Rob has completed the Spinal Manipulation Assessment & Rehabilitation Training (SMART PT) program and is authorized to perform spinal manipulation by Physiotherapy Alberta.
During his physiotherapy program he completed elective courses in sports therapy, cardiac exercises rehabilitation, complex/chronic pain management, hand therapy, knee and total hip joint replacement rehabilitation, and acute care.
Rob has an extensive background in competitive sports; he was member of the Edmonton Keyano national swim team for 8 years and the University of Alberta Men’s Varsity Swim Team for 5 years, and rugby; he is former member of the Nor’Wester Division I team and traveled to Australia for a season where he was a member of the Grand Final Champion Noosa Dolphins Men’s A grade team. He also enjoys snowboarding, surfing, golf, and travelling.
