Lauren Jenkins (née Lefaivre) graduated from the University of Alberta with her Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Medicine (Physiotherapy) and Bachelor of Science. She is certified in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) from the University of British Columbia.
Additionally, Lauren has training in vestibular assessment and treatment for people with dizziness, vertigo, and balance impairments. She has also completed numerous courses in manual therapy as she pursues her diploma of manual and manipulative therapy through the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. Lauren is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment and is trained in the Mulligan Concept.
Lauren has worked extensively with people who have sustained concussions. She uses a multifactorial approach to treatment including vestibular therapy, manual therapy, and Gunn IMS to improve functional impairments in people with post-concussion syndrome.
Lauren takes the time to design a comprehensive, individualized home rehabilitation plan while delivering comprehensive education and treatment. She approaches client care with a compassionate focus on prevention, striving to motivate her clients to pursue active and healthy lives.
In her spare time, Lauren likes to run, play soccer, and do barre fitness classes. She is a proud mother of twin girls and happy to take weekends away to visit the mountains with the girls and her husband!
